Dr. Ahmad Appointed to the ASAPS Board of Directors

We are happy to announce that Dr. Jamil Ahmad, Director of Research and Education at The Plastic Surgery Clinic, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). He is only the second Canadian to ever be appointed to this board.

The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), founded in 1967, is the leading professional organization of plastic surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) who specialize in aesthetic plastic surgery. With over 2,600 members in the U.S., Canada, and many other countries, ASAPS is at the forefront of innovation in aesthetic plastic surgery around the world. The mission of ASAPS includes medical education, public education, and patient advocacy.

The requirements for membership in the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) are designed to encourage application by trained and experienced plastic surgeons who concentrate their practices in performing cosmetic plastic surgery of the face and the entire body. ASAPS membership remains an exclusive privilege for those plastic surgeons who possess the necessary qualifications. Only board certified plastic surgeons are eligible to be accepted into ASAPS membership. Physicians who have been trained in specialties other than plastic surgery are not eligible for membership in ASAPS.

In addition to his appointment to the ASAPS Board of Directors, Dr. Ahmad also serves as the Vice Chair of the ASAPS Annual Meeting Program Committee. He is responsible for planning continuing medical education in aesthetic plastic surgery for ASAPS members around the world. Additionally, he is the Co-Chair of the ASAPS Premier Global Hot Topics where the latest surgical techniques and technology in aesthetic plastic surgery are introduced.
