Introducing PicoWay’s Newest Revolutionary Technology

PicoWay Resolve

There are many factors that cause the skin to alter in appearance, smoothness and clarity. Whether it be stress, gravity, prolonged sun exposure, or a genetic predisposition, skin rejuvenation laser treatments have become a widely popular non-surgical treatment for restoring the skin’s natural radiance.

Thanks to constant research that has led to the latest advancements in laser technology, patients are able to receive corrective treatments customized to their specific skincare concerns with no downtime. At The Plastic Surgery Clinic, we are pleased to announce our latest skin rejuvenation technology, PicoWay Resolve – a revolutionary dual wavelength picosecond system with both fractional and non-fractional capabilities.

How Does it Work?

Like the traditional PicoWay technology, Resolve uses picosecond pulses to create laser induced optical breakdown (LIOBs) in the dermis layer of the skin, all while leaving the epidermis fully intact. This LIOB effect stimulates a healing response, remodelling the skin for a complete skin rejuvenation.

PicoWay Resolve has two wavelength settings: 52nm for shallow surface lesions and 1064 nm for deeper lesions. It uses unique, proprietary high peak power and short pulse durations for maximized effectiveness. Its ultra-short pulses enable the strong photoacoustic impact to break apart pigment particles of the skin.

Resolve not only produces less heat than traditional laser technology for minimal discomfort, but its high peak power means an improved ability to treat smaller particles for greater efficacy. The device’s laser energy is delivered slower so that only laser pigment fragments will shatter. Moreover, its ultra-short pulses provide the impact needed to fracture pigment particles using lower fluencies for clearance in fewer treatments. What does this mean for you? Better clearance of unwanted skin pigmentation and a reduction in the signs of aging with less discomfort thanks to fewer necessary laser sessions.

What to Expect During Treatment

PicoWay Resolve is a safe, effective treatment option for any skin type, and offers results in just a few treatments. During your first visit, our medical aestheticians will carefully monitor how your skin reacts to the laser, as this will help to determine the most effective treatment plan for you. To soothe the treated area, a cold compress will then be applied post treatment, and in some cases, a topical antibiotic ointment may be recommended. Post treatment care also includes avoiding the use of any abrasive skin cleansers or exfoliants to the treated area.

It`s also common for some patients – in the weeks that follow a PicoWay Resolve treatment – to experience temporary discolouration or reddening of the skin on or around the treatment area. Some patients have even reported temporary skin lightening following treatment, which resolves to a normalized skin tone shortly after. The great thing about this PicoWay Resolve is that, as mentioned, there`s little to no downtime, meaning you can resume your daily activities post treatment.

The number of treatments you will need will vary depending on the location, size, depth and type of pigment. Generally, the treatments are done in intervals of 8-12 weeks and some individuals will require more treatments than others for optimal results.

Skin Rejuvenation with PicoWay Resolve

PicoWay Resolve can be used to correct an array of skin conditions, including unwanted pigmentation, skin irregularities, and the signs of aging. It’s the only picosecond device on the market to employ a holographic fractionator to deliver precisely consistent energy to the entire treatment area, which results in pristine, reproducible results. As mentioned, Resolve’s two wavelengths enable treatment of shallow lesions with the 532nm wavelength, while the 1064nm wavelength is used for deeper lesions and to treat the appearance of hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, and stretch marks with little to no downtime. It`s also the most effective laser on the market to treat melasma – a common skin condition that affects 1 in 4 people.

The benefits of using the PicoWay Resolve are endless.
