How a Brow Lift is Performed

Most forehead lift operations take about two hours. A friend or relative will need to come and pick you up, take you home and stay with you for 24 hours.

As leading Toronto forehead lift, Dr. Lista and Dr. Ahmad are experts in an innovative technique called an endoscopic brow lift that minimizes scarring and reduces recovery time. In this procedure, the hair is parted and four or five short scalp incisions, each less than an inch in length, are made within the hair. The resulting scars are nearly invisible and are further hidden by your hair.

An endoscope – a 4 mm-wide pencil-like viewing scope connected to a television monitor – is inserted through one of the incisions, providing your plastic surgeon with a clear view of the muscles and tissues beneath the skin. Your surgeon uses another instrument, inserted through a different incision, to the lift the forehead skin and remove or modify the muscles and underlying tissues to produce a smoother appearance. The eyebrows may also be lifted and secured into a higher position by absorbable fixation devices placed behind the hairline. When the lift is complete, the scalp incisions are closed with stitches and clips and the area is washed to prevent irritation.
