Dr. Ahmad's approach to Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty in Toronto usually takes an hour or two, though complicated procedures may take longer. To start, Dr. Lista or Dr. Ahmad will usually make incisions inside the nostril, meaning that scarring is essentially eliminated. In more complicated cases an “open” procedure is often required, where a small incision is made in the columella, the vertical strip of tissue separating the nostrils.
Toronto cosmetic surgeon Dr. Lista or Dr. Ahmad will then separate the skin of the nose in order to reveal the supporting framework of bone and cartilage in order to shape the cartilage. Depending on your needs and expectations, Dr. Lista or Dr. Ahmad will file down the cartilage, bring the nasal bones together to form a narrower bridge, and then trim the cartilage to reshape the tip of the nose.

Incisions are made inside the nostrils or at the base of the nose, providing access to the cartilage and bone, which can then be sculpted into shape.

If your nostrils are too wide, your surgeon improves the angle between the nose and upper lip. Trimming the septum can remove small wedges of skin from their base, bringing them closer together.
